February 2022

Hi ,

Happy Valentine's Day! ❤️

"Anyone can catch your eye, but it takes someone special to catch your heart." ~ Unknown

Celebrating Black History Month ❤️🤎❤️

All year long because it deserves more than 28 days.

I hope 2022 has started off gently and that the seeds of hope have already been planted. I hope you are warm, safe, and finding ways to stay connected to those you love.

It's been a year and a day, forever it feels like since I last emailed you. My last book-related news was the release of Scorned by Azaaa Davis, published on 2/23/2021. My life changed so much since then, but my writing career froze. Writer's block? No. Lack of funds? No. Lack of time? No. Lack of focus? Yes. I unexpectedly rearranged my priorities, and writing somehow slipped to the bottom of my daily to-do list.

My family is happy and healthy. We've settled into our new house and town quite well. I am now working outside the home full-time, and the transition from stay-at-home mom and author to working mom and author has been challenging. Life's tough when all of my major decisions must account for how it will affect my husband and children, lots of pieces in this puzzle that must fit just right for the sake of harmony. I like my new job, and my family is adjusting well to not having me around as much. With less time spent all together, it makes family time all the more precious.

During this time away from writing daily with deadlines and release dates looming, I've come to a realization. If I don't talk about my writing, then who will? If I don't show my pride, and excitement for my stories, characters, and new worlds, then why should anyone else? I know now that it's okay to share my love for my books with the world. It's not just self-promotion. It's also happiness and determination to get my books in front of readers searching for diversity in fantasy novels. I am meeting a need, and that's a good thing.

I'm wishing you the best, and know that I have many stories in development that will continue to be published throughout the years to come.

Best wishes,

Azaaa Davis

PS: In March 2022, I'll be inviting you all to a read-a-long of Hiss, Rattle and Bite by Azaaa Davis. It's a short story about vampires in ebook format that will be available in many digital bookstores for only 99 cents.
