Monthly Update
Nov 04, 2024 6:41 pm
Hello, !
This month has been really, really busy! (Surprisingly so, actually!) I celebrated my 16th birthday on the 24th, and then my family and I turned right around and went to Virginia to be with friends. I rode horses, hiked, watched a new movie (Unsung Hero), and laughed with my friends over the Disney's animated Tarzan. (Seriously a lot funnier than I remembered.)
Unfortunately, I was also sick for a good deal of this month, and blog posts and emails were put on hold. I apologize for that.
(An unprofessional picture of me riding bareback. My sister is in the blue helmet in the background.)
Writing
Writing has been pretty awesome this month. On the 16th, I finished A Hero of Alindell, my "epic" fantasy novel. It felt good to get a nice draft of it done. (It finished at a whopping 126K!) Now I am participating in NaNoWriMo (National Novel Writing Month). My project is the second book of a different series, Rangers N' Rays. I may write a quick blog post about the new book I'm working on, or share some graphics but other than that, I will be relatively silent on both my blog and my email list. I will be devoting the whole month to writing my story, and not to writing blog posts. :)
Art
Art has slowed a bit, but I did get two great books on drawing for my birthday! The first is on colored pencil portraits, and the second is about Alan Lee's work on The Lord of the Rings trilogy by Peter Jackson. I'm excited to dive into those!
Also dealing with art, my friend Leah Grace from The Grace Haus, shared bullet journaling with me, sending me both a bullet journal, and several fun tools to begin my journey with. (For those who don't know what bullet journaling is, it's basically a really creative way of making lists and things. We planners enjoy doing things like that.)
The Blog
