Curious, I dove into it and was surprised by the wit and resilience of Wynward Oliver. Snapshots of a gay life well lived take us from the confused—and occasionally dark—world of a chubby Syrian/Latino boy, the lust of a young man, the terror of the AIDS epidemic, and a moving love story. This book is funny, sexy, tragic, and magical. Through it all, Mr. Oliver’s positive attitude and lust for life shine through. He’s a lovely man, and I highly recommend his book. WHAT I’M DOING
A few months ago, I dipped into a deep depression. It happens sometimes. Since then, I’ve been doing a lot of trauma work with a therapist who specializes in PTSD and trauma. If you suffer from either of these and haven’t really dealt with it before, it’s definitely worth it if you’re able to afford it. I’ve learned new coping mechanisms that have really helped.
I’m working on another book in the Men of the Shadows series (the Thomas Carillon books.) I don’t have a good feel for when it will be finished. I’m only about six thousand words into it. I’ll tell you more about it later.
