Today is chock full of surprises. At least according to Mickey Mouse, anyway. And you know what, , Mickey is right.

My sister's surprise was horrible. She got in her car, turned the key in the ignition, and thought a lawnmower erupted from the back seat. Because someone hacked the catalytic converter out of her car's exhaust system, and now her car is mortifyingly loud. And undrivable.

I comforted her with some well-chilled sauvignon blanc. As one does in trying times.

Conversely, my surprise was fabulous.

I opened Good Reads and found someone had written a very kind review of my latest book, Kitty and the Captain. It absolutely made my day. So if you are reading this, and if you are that lovely human who took the time to read my book and leave a review, I thank you from my now very happy heart.
