Issue: February 2025
Hello February!
How's the month treating you? Happy Chinese New Year to those who celebrate! Did you observe National Chocolate Day? I quite like the idea of 'National Discount Chocolate Day'. Not that it's anything official but go into any American store on February 15th and you'll know what I'm talking about. For those who celebrate Valentines Day, I hope you had a wonderful day surrounded by those you care about even if it isn't in a romantic way. My secret? I don't celebrate the day. Yeah, it may seem odd for a romance author, but if you read to the end of today's newsletter, I'll tell you the reason.
Did you see that "Just Add Love" anthology is live? Let me know what you think of my story "Best Worst Date". Should I expand it to a full length story? One of my beta readers rated that as their first choice. Others want me to expand "Stilettos in the Crosshairs" or "Racing to Fall". Eventually, I'll get to all of them.
I would be remiss not to mention Black History Month. So many great leaders, artists, and inventors that can never be acknowledged enough. But it's as much about the people who took a stand to make their voice heard. Where would we be without the compelling works of Maya Angelou? Some of my favorite contemporary romance authors include Kennedy Ryan and Kilby Blades. Who are some of your favorite Black authors?
Check out these hot romances!

In Memorium
Seven years ago, our community in Parkland, Florida was devastated by the death of 17 people and injuries of many others in a senseless school shooting. The poem below, is dedicated to the memory of them and to the families that still feel their loss so acutely.
The tattered golden balloon clung to the barren branches
Struggling to hold on, it gasps for breath
The gleaming sunshine does little to bring it comfort
Far below, a box of chocolates is strewn across the field
Its contents crushed in their attempted escape
Brightly colored stuffed animals lay tarnished in the mud
Lost too soon, but never forgotten
-Author, Nicole McGee
