When I’m not writing, of course I’m reading!
I’ve never had a pug as a pet in my stories. Today is National Pug Day and this lil guy — who reminds me of Rumpole in “Rumpole of the Bailey” — is cute if ugly. Truly oxymoronic! I think Rumpole will show up in one of my novels soon.
Todays post is about my greatest distraction from writing. Well, here it is… ??
Today is check-in day and as I don’t know what exactly im supposed to do, I’ll share this “slice of a writer’s truth@ with you all.
I have a number of “irons in the fire” right now. One of them, the second story in my 12 Days of Christmas series, currently lives under this title: “Ties That Bind”.
Overall, I write to escape, to survive, I write so I can heal. Despite what many believe, I’m more introvert than extrovert, more reserved than not. Friendliness is the mask I wear to survive the emotional and psychological push and pull of my life. Reading was my go to when I was younger but writing has sucked up to share the space with it. And if, in the process, I make a fellow reader happy, I am blessed.
Days 3 and 4: I am a Plantser, having come around to the view that while flying by the seat of my pants works for me, planning the flying makes things even better. ?? My genre (in this pen name) is contemporary MF romance, focusing on interracial, second chance, age gap, and/or erotic elements.
I missed yesterday and almost missed today, so you’re getting a two-fee today. 1) I write second chance, interracial, age-gap, MF and paranormal romances, from sweet to erotic and I write MM romances under a different, soon-to-be-released pen name. 2) My October plans include engaging with my readers every day through interactive activities on my social media sites and sending out a newsletter.
Hello October! Tomorrow, Banned Books Week ends. What is one banned book that you enjoyed? I love “The Giver”.
If you like serialised stories, try this one, as yet unpublished elsewhere…
