Hello again, Honeys!

January is about firsts---first steps, first publications, first bylines. This month, we’re celebrating those beginnings, especially the ones that take courage, like publishing first stories.

Although LOVE WINS: Stories of Heat, Heart, and Hope is not the first anthology in which I have participated, it is the first one that I have organized and administered. And believe me when I say, it has been a challenge from the start. I cannot thank my fellow writers enough for their enthusiastic support and hard work in getting us to this point. We're almost at the finish line!

The anthology marks another important first for one of our participating authors. I'm excited to introduce you to Olivia Huxley, whose story, The Plus One Playbook, will be her first published novella. Olivia grew up thinking 'Author' sounded like an amazing job. Eventually, the stories in her head demanded to be written and jostled for first place. She's excited to tell stories for as long as the ideas come.

Star hockey defenseman Declan Fitzpatrick just wants to play the game and avoid talking to the media, including tenacious reporter Ayana Williams, who’s been after him for months. The final anthology author spotlight is on Gabbi Powell. Gabbi has been in love with love since she wrote her first story in the eighth grade. Her faithful romance-writing companions are her trusty ChinPoo dog and her cantankerous Himalayan cat. Her anthology story title is A Brush With The Past.
