Happy August, Honeys!

Summer is in full swing, and the book boyfriends are out in force. Have you met any new favorites since the last time we chatted? I'll have a couple of suggestions for you, and next month I'll share teasers for a couple of books I'm currently working on. But first, what fun things have you been doing since last time?

July has been a mixed bag of happy and sad for me. If it weren't for books, I don't know how I'd have managed. As I celebrated the longevity of a 42-year marriage, two people whom I cared about died. The first you already know about, and I'm still in shock that Twyla has passed. Less than a week later, a classmate from my high school days in Barbados also passed away. Wendy was a few months older than I am, and she was the second classmate from our year who passed away from cancer in 2025.

Thankfully, in addition to my anniversary, I had three events to help me avoid going down the rabbit hole of despair and fear of dying. First, I enjoyed 3 intense days at the RSJ Virtual Conference. I learned a lot that I have already begun to put into practice. Three days later, I was in Niagara Falls, Ontario, for another 4 days and nights of inspiration and learning. And I was with both my writing partners, which made the experience even more special.

Then last Saturday, I had my first signing of the year in Trumbull, Connecticut, at RomantiConn 2025. What a lovely, warm, joyful day it was! I met some of my favorite authors in the flesh for the first time. Hugs are delightful in person! I was blessed with a great table, where people had to pass me both coming in and going out, which meant my name got out there even more than it might otherwise have done.

Reading, talking about books, and being with readers and writers helped me make it through a sad month. I will always be grateful for the blessing of reading and writing romance, and for the joy of sharing that blessing with all of you. Thank you for reading my stories.

As for book boyfriend recommendations, check out these fellas. Lisa Rayne's Never Cross A Highlander is a riveting romance between two fiery Highlanders who share a common ancestral history, but whose clans are sworn enemies. Each has secrets that can make or break the connection they valiantly resist. I loved this story, probably even more because I loved the Scottish narrator who made the dangerous warrior Kallum MacNeill come alive. And his love interest, the feisty Ailsa Connery, is no pushover!

The Surrogate by Penelope Ward reminded me of my own story of that name. Sig Benedictus is a widower, and Abby Knickerbocker is the young woman who will carry his child to term. From Amazon: "A surrogate carrying a deceased woman's baby develops unexpected feelings for the widowed father, while he struggles with his growing attraction despite vowing to keep his distance."

If you'd like an ARC of the two books I've published so far this year---The Wonder of You and The Pilot's Wife---send me a note and I'll forward you a copy. Your review will be very much appreciated! This month, all reviewers will receive some swag for their kindness. Just let me know when and where you've posted your reviews, and send me your mailing address as well.

Have a fabulous summer, and if you're in the line of fire (literally) and smoke in Manitoba and the surrounding areas of Canada and the US, please take care and be safe! Things can be replaced. Life and good health, not so much.

Remember to click on the book titles to find them on Amazon. See you in September!

À bientôt,

KT
