Before the Fall

Good evening, dear Reader!

If you live in temperate climes, I'm sure you're already feeling the nip of autumn in the air, even though daytime temps are still warm. And if you're like me, the changing weather has brought you a late summer cold. Stay warm, drink lots of fluids, and stay away from hyperactive children!

This newsletter is all about choosing books to cozy up to as the temperatures dip. I'll start with the second book in AJ Buchanan's "No Strings Attached" MM series. It's titled Facing the Music and it's about a sexy rockstar with commitment issues and the silver-fox architect with coming-out issues. If you'd like an ARC copy in exchange for an honest review, send your request to ajbuchanan@writeme.com. And follow her TikTok page here: https://www.tiktok.com/@ajauthor65

Here's the end of the blurb for the novel:

"Neither Tristan nor Benedict have any interest in coming out from behind the walls they've built to protect themselves. When Tristan picks Benedict's architectural firm to help with his home renovation, each man must face the music and choose passion over prudence in this slow-burn second-chance romance."

On the subject of challenges to relationships, how do y'all feel about age-gap romances? Tristan and Benedict are only 6 years apart, but what do you think about a 20+-year age difference? I can see it being fraught with all kinds of challenges because of generational differences, for starters, and the physical differences can also be problematic. I'm currently reading an MM romance in which the younger MC is the son of the older MC's best friend. There are other complications, and there's also suspense. If you'd like to see how this popular trope plays out between two guys, try American Dream by C. F. White.

Speaking of age gaps, remember that May to December is the perfect segue into my holiday stories. I'll have more news for you in the next newsletter about the fifth book in my "Twelfth Day of Christmas Romance" series, coming on January 5, 2025. And I hope you got the chance to read Niccoyan Zheng's Librarian: Book Boyfriend Dating Agency. It's a really cute story, and as I said in my review "I really love Cort. He’s intelligent, romantic, and passionate."

Until next time,

À bientôt,

KT
