September ... Summer's End

Happy Labor Day, Honeys!
September snuck up on me. Do you feel that way, too ... as though two-thirds of the year simply flew by, and we're back to school and gearing up for sweater weather? Welcome to the last four months of 2025!
Much has been happening in my world. I'm missing a chance to go back to Jamaica with The Mister this month---albeit for the funeral of his aunt---for some beach time and island food. Still, while he's gone, I'll be debuting at the Brooklyn Book Festival on September 21. I'm excited to be a part of this promotional and marketing opportunity.
If you're in the New York City area that day, why not stop by? It would be wonderful to meet you in person, as we enjoy the book vibes. The event, held in the Brooklyn Borough Hall Plaza and Columbus Park, runs from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. I'll be sharing space with other members of the New York City chapter of the Romance Writers of America. The national RWA will also be represented there this year.
In other news, my colleagues and I are deep into the planning and writing of our short stories or novellas to be included in the limited edition charity anthology to benefit pancreatic research. We're closer to a cover, deciding on a final title (see stand-in idea below), and choosing icons for the individual stories we will include. More details to come by the end of the month. I am so honored to be able not only to coordinate this meaningful tribute to Twyla, but also to support a worthy cause.
Finally, two book recommendations, as usual. I love giving back to the community that supports my work and my journey as a writer by promoting others whose work I enjoy. This month, I offer you two thoroughly enjoyable reads.
First, there's Starcrossed Nocturne by Nadine Theiss, an excellently-written, edge-of-your-seat vampire romantic suspense that adds a twist to the genre. Well worth the read! Then, for those of you needing a romcom with characters over 40, check out Makin' Bacon: A Small Town Seasoned Romance. If you love a good second-chance romance with humor and heat between grown-ups of a certain age, this novella might just hit the spot for you.
Remember to click on the links in the titles, as you cozy up with these two, and let me know how you like them.
Finally, a quick question. If I gave you the chance to decide who the characters of my next Christmas story would be, who would you want me to write about? There are no limits ... you can ask for anything, from a king to a pauper. So tell me, who would you choose? If I like your idea, I'll send you some swag, and yours will be the seventh Twelfth Day of Christmas story, coming out in 2027.
I look forward to hearing your answers. Until next time, stay safe out there!
À bientôt,
KT
