End of Year Wrap Up!
Dec 15, 2023 10:01 am
We're halfway through the last month of the year. It's still hard to believe that 2023 has drawn to an end.
I sat down at the beginning of the year and said I was going to slow down... do less... And looking back at this year? I can't say that I did that.
January saw the release of Strictly Curious, which remains my top selling book to date. I still can't believe I ever let someone almost talk me out of writing it. At its peak, it hit #26 in Gay Romance. This was the highest ANY of my books have ever hit.
In June, I brought you The Date Mistake. It didn't take off quite the way that Strictly Curious did, but Trevor and Aaron still got an insane amount of love. In September, I had the opportunity to participate in a queer exclusive sale, and while I normally don't put my books on sale that early, I tossed The Date Mistake into the mix. I earned my very first orange banner, earning best seller in bisexual fiction and hitting #24 in Gay Romance.
I am so unbelievably happy with this book and proud of it. It remains my favorite book that I've written.
In November, I brought my very first co-write with my friend Courtney W. Dixon. Before I Fall was my first attempt at dipping my toes into something more on the angsty side. I wanted to make people cry! I got a little thrill when people tagged me in reviews and mentioned those tears. Evan and Simon were so much fun to write about. I loved getting to do something different.
Before I Fall wasn't my only attempt at something angsty. Courtney was my training wheels. I got to go for a test drive by myself. In January, you'll get to meet Levi and August in Fighting for Freedom, my contribution to the Fighting for Love collaboration.
I have absolutely loved exploring some different sides to writing this year, but am also looking forward to getting back to my low-angst smutty roots next year!
