MISSION PROGRESS
My store got a facelift!
- I changed some things around to make purchasing from me simpler.
- You can pay with your Amazon account now
- You can pay with PayPal and Venmo now
- I've added all three Dorwine books in every format I have
- I've added the audiobooks for books 1 and 2. You can now buy DRM-free audiobooks directly from me. You will own them. No relying on being in good standing with some mega-corporation to have continued access to stuff you bought. Yours.
I also streamlined the look of the store. Go check it out! https://authorjackadkins.com/shop
The Devil on Klack Mountain
Nolan Keller is a modern techno-thriller set in Appalachia, in the fictitious town of Marrow Creek.
I'm still making good progress on this book. Not as much as I would like, but that will ever be the case.
DORWINE
I'm still angling toward a Dragons of Dorwine trilogy. I've been through a dozen vendors trying to find the right one.
My second event is practically in my backyard. It's The Old Washington Festival. April 4th, starting at 10am in Maysville, Kentucky. It's a neat sort of pioneer throwback festival.

Sit Rep
- GoboCon was a blast! I met some great people. Sold a few books. Aaron and his staff at GoblinTraders put on a good convention. They also have a nice store in Ironton, OH. Go check em out.
- Anuka and I had a good chat this week, and we are well on the way to working out our differences. Not to air our dirty laundry publicly, but the book I want to write and the book Anuka wants aren't the same book. This might sound stupid. Am I not the author? Well, yes, but when you breathe life into characters, they start taking the story where they want it to go. Anuka is telling me that he didn't resolve what he needed to resolve in Book 3, The Soul of a Dragon. He's right.
- I'm aiming for April 30th to have draft 1 of The Devil on Klack Mountain completed. This still seems to be on track. I will need a couple of strong weeks in March to make it happen.
- The Dorwine Trilogy is going to be a thing. We've all seen the pretty books in bookstores. Heck, I can't walk past the book aisle in Walmart without picking up a stunning book. What kinds of things get you excited about premium books? Sprayed edges? Stenciled designs? Foiled covers? Let me know: [email protected]
I’ll share specific dates when I have them. Until then, I’m keeping this focused on real progress.

Gear Feature
Range bags
Typically, I have used a range bag I found crammed in the bottom corner of a shelf at Dunham's. Nothing special. Lots of pockets. Easy to carry. Then I found Condition1.
Hear me out. I use one of their big ones (7 guns, 18 mags) for the tree farm, but they have some excellent smaller cases (like the #179) are perfect for range day. They hold 2 pistols and 8 mags. Plus it has a big compartment for ear and eye protection.
What do you use to carry to the range?
Quick question: What about you? What do you carry with? Lemme know: [email protected]
You can also post to my facebook. They don't mind :) https://facebook.com/authorjackadkins
Note: Any firearm mentions are for lawful, responsible ownership and general discussion only—no training, handling, or tactical advice.
