New Look for Dorwine

Live Event This Week!

From the Author’s Desk

After chatting with some of y'all I've decided to split the newsletters for Dorwine and Nolan Keller. I get it. Not everyone likes for their food to touch. While I'm not writing Ember's Wedding right now, I'm still working on it.

Scenes from the books are still filling my mind (and my notebook). And I'm still working on the things I've promised. Namely a Kickstarter with Dragons of Dorwine Trilogy sets. This is the most requested item I am consistently asked about. A Trilogy e-book will drop at the same time. The big hold-up for the beautiful boxed set you've asked for is cost. The premier vendor for this type of thing is located in the UK. If I dropped the Kickstarter today, shipping for the boxed set alone would be $15-20 (depending on where you live). I can't justify putting that on my awesome readers. So we shall wait. Those prices should come down. I need the Kickstarter to do well enough to cover most of the cost of production for the audiobook for book 3, The Soul of a Dragon. So we wait...

Ember’s Wedding is shaping into three converging paths:

— Anuka, captured and far from help

— Rigby and Aridelle, racing to reach him before it’s too late

— Tabir and Ember, preparing for a wedding while trying to understand what Rathune is doing… if he is doing anything at all

For a time, it seemed like Anuka might take control of the entire story. I think I’ve managed to wrestle it back.

Lore Fragment

As the song ended, Ember felt a sob building in his chest. His hands trembled as he fell to his hands and knees. The creatures joined hands and cried out in a loud voice. Ember didn't have time to think about what they shouted before a flash of lightning split the sky and struck each of the twelve stones with a resounding crack. Echoes of the brilliant flash floated in Ember's vision. He tried to rub them away to see what loomed below. The creatures were unharmed by the lightning. They gazed in awe at the sundered stones. A small Dragon crawled from the center of each cracked stone. Not small, Ember thought, babies. The large stones were eggs. Each dragon that crawled forth was the size of a horse. The Dragons were unique in color and he realized that both chromatic and metallic colors were represented here. Ember began naming them off; Gold, Silver, Bronze, Brass, Copper, and...

From the Realm

This Saturday we will be setup at the Bloom-Vernon School District in South Webster, Ohio. This one is going to be a blast. It's a 250th anniversary for America. There will be tons of eager young readers and lots of fun stuff to do. If you are near the Southern Ohio region of the US I invite you to stop by. It goes from 4 - 9pm. I’ll have Dorwine books on hand, and I’d love to meet you in person.
