I have a serious question of y'all

In Indie circles, there are two prevailing thoughts on writing speed. Some authors write slowly and spend a lot of time on editing and polishing, and some write as fast as possible.

It would seem that the ones who write really fast put out lower quality work, but imagethat hasn't been my experience. The faster I write, the better I write. I'm hindered by work and family obligations or I would be more prolific. Pondering this dynamic got me wondering... Do you tend to prefer authors who put out a lot of books very quickly, or do you like the Patrick Rothfuss's of the world? (The Name of the Wind is a masterpiece I highly recommend).

When my kids were growing up, they read the Magic Treehouse series, which contains 110 books. That's a lot of books. There are 62 Goosebumps books. All written by R.L. Stien. Wow.

Tolkien wrote 12 books. I tend to do both, but I'm undecided about which I prefer, as a reader.

So, which is it for you? Long series of books that are cranked out consistently, or ponderous works that take years to write (George R.R. Martin :/ )?
