Hello !

On Friday, I told you why I created Author Ever After and why helping women write and publish romance feels so connected to the community-building work I've always done.

But if you're thinking about joining us, you probably have a more personal question.

"Would this help me?"

Me, with the unfinished draft.

Me, with the manuscript I've revised so many times I can no longer tell if it's getting better.

Me, who wants to publish but doesn't know what I don't know yet.

Fair questions.

So today, I'd like you to hear from a few women who have been part of Author Ever After.

When you want to finish your book

There's a lot that can happen between starting a romance novel and finishing a draft you're ready to share.

Sometimes you need help with the story. Sometimes you need time to write. And sometimes you need someone who will take your book seriously while you're still learning to do that yourself.

Here's what Tami Winbush (now Tami Best!) shared about her experience:

"Author Ever After has given me more opportunities than I could have ever dared to dream. I've gained the ability to finish my discovery draft, the confidence to share what I've written with others, and the knowledge to get out there and promote myself. There's no telling where I'd be without this support system."

Finishing a draft and letting someone else read it are two very different milestones. Both deserve celebrating.

You don't have to arrive with a polished manuscript. You can join while you're still figuring out your characters, your story, and how to make room for writing in your week.

When you have questions you're afraid to ask

On Friday, I said I want you to have somewhere to say, "I have no idea what to do here."

I meant it.

We don't have a knowledge exam to join. You don't need to know your ISBNs from your ASINs to have a seat with us. And you never, ever have to apologize before asking a question.

Colette R. Harrell put it beautifully:

"Danika is the ultimate book coach. She offers her extensive author knowledge with patience and care. She fosters an atmosphere that feels so safe you won't mind admitting all the things you don't know and be amazed as you walk away equipped for the challenge."

That's the kind of learning environment I want for you.

You can ask the question, understand the answer, and work out how it applies to your book. Then come back with the next question.

When you're ready to become a published author

And then there's the part where your dream starts involving actual publishing decisions.

An editor. A cover. Formatting. A launch.

You don't have to be ready to make any of those decisions this month or this quarter. But having people to help you understand what comes next can make a big difference to your confidnece and momentum.

Ashley Boss joined with a first draft and the hope of publishing her first novel. She wrote this after being in the community for one year. She's still an active member and now has nine romance novels and novellas published!

"When I first joined Author Ever After I was flying in blind with only a first draft in hand and a pipe dream to publish. Now, after being a part of Danika's community and learning all I can, I've taken her tools and worked each step to launching my first novel that hit #125 in small-town romance on Amazon within 24 hours of release!

"For a debut indie author with not a clue how to launch a book on my own a year ago, I can only attribute that success to this amazing community! Every penny, every hour spent here, has been worth it. I can't thank Danika and the lovely members of AEA enough for their support, knowledge, and accountability toward my goal that was once a dream, and is now a reality."

Ashley's book. Ashley's work. Ashley's kick-ass achievement.

And a community she turned to week after week as she learned how to make it happen. (And in Ashley's case, like so many members who stay after they've published, the student is now the teacher!)

I can't promise you the same launch results as any other member, or tell you exactly when your book will be ready. What I can offer is support as you write, learn, make decisions, and work toward the milestone that matters to you.
