Hello !

First, thanks so much to the 29 people who completed my survey about your romance writing habits and goals.

The survey is still open and you still have a chance to win a cash (gift card of your choice) prize that will be worth at least $30. The more people who complete it, the higher the prize will be. Up to $150.

I'm adding $1 for each completed survey so go fill it out now! It takes under 5 minutes since it's mostly multiple choice.

I'll make the draw next Thursday, January 15th. I'll even let you watch the name picker wheel spin so you can sit on the edge of your seat waiting for it to click onto a name. Hopefully yours!

So tell me ...

How can I better support you?

...and you'll automatically be entered onto this wheel of names to win a gift card to the online retailer of your choice.

Something Old (but updated!)

Each year since 2022, I've updated my list of publishers that accept submissions from authors without an agent. This year the list saw lots of changes. Five romance publishers that are new to the list and a handful that either stopped publishing or moved to agented submissions only.

The spreadsheet is here for you to copy.

Something New

I am so happy to announce that Sue Brown-Moore and I will be presenting a joint workshop at the upcoming Women in Publishing Summit hosted by the incredible Alexa Bigwarfe this March! This is the perfect time to get a ticket since you'll get the early bird pricing.

This year’s Summit is centered around one powerful truth that I live every single day:

Collaboration is the future of publishing,

and no one succeeds alone.

Over four days, you’ll learn practical marketing and business strategies, discover new tools, and build relationships that support long-term creative and professional success.

Learn all about the expert-led workshops, keynote talks, fireside conversations, implementation sessions, and interactive networking right here.

Note: This is my affiliate link. You don't pay more by using it, but you do let Alexa know I'm a good partner!

Something Borrowed

If you're already published, this one's for you in the "steal like an artist" category!

If you're looking for new interactive content for your website, or you want to make your book an easier yes for book clubs, creating a Book Club Guide is a great idea. But where to start? What to include? How to design it?

RandomHouse has got you covered. They've got dozens of downloadable book club guides on their website.

Something Blue

Ice is blue.

And I just finished listening to the audiobook version of Heated Rivalry because I'm the kind of person who likes to read the book before I watch the movie or series (usually... I've binged all of the Bridgerton series without having read a single Julia Quinn book ... am I a monster?).

Have you watched the series yet? Read any of the books in the Game Changers series by Rachel Reid? If so ... what do you think? Worth the hype?
