The Great Thaw, Re-Freeze and Book Progress

Hey there!
In a somewhat twist of events, immediately after the coldest weeks of the year, we have had some freak warm days. While on the surface this might seem all 'fun and dandy' (I do love the warmer air) it brings some particularly interesting challenges. And that challenge is tons of snow and ice melting without anywhere to go. Add to that hundreds of frozen cow pies piled up that are now melted into a deep sludgy mess and you get the idea of what things have been like on the homestead the past few days.
We have our very own Lake Kenner!
Naturally, a freeze followed right after the lake effect which left us with a nice ice rink. Going out and doing chores is now a very unique challenge that often ends with someone on the ground. But hey, why not make things more interesting?
I'll spare you the picture of this one, but I have to say when we got a cow the one thing we did not account for is the sheer amount of manure that she produces. Well, she and her calf. If you consider her eating 40 or 50 pounds of hay every day, it does have to go somewhere! Try to imagine that weight in cow manure per day and that's what we get. Add the frozen and thawing element to all that waste and you can imagine what this winter has been like. More than likely more infrastructure changes are going to happen before next winter, but now it's just about making it to the summer without burying ourselves in all of it.
My Progress This Week
Pretty happy with the progress I've made with Fairy Blooded this last couple of weeks. I've made it to 83K which is a lot closer to the ending than I was before. Honestly, it's just great to know that I'm ahead of the curve. To keep up with a two book a year schedule I just need to have the next book written by the publish date of the current book, which puts me nearly a whole book ahead of schedule.
I'm happy to say that my short story Between Life & Death is available for all of my followers on Ream! (Following is free, so don't hesitate to jump in!) Just click here to join the community! If you're looking for a modern urban fantasy take on angels and devils then you'll want to read this. It's a pretty quick read but I think you'll enjoy it.
Also, just a note that in the same Ream Community, chapters 12-15 for Demon Blooded are now up if you are interested in getting early access to the story. If not, the book is set to be released March 24 of this year!
Some New Books to Check Out!
