The Cold Snap and the Frozen Author

Hey there!

Heavy weather slammed into us this week, and can I tell you it was not the most pleasant of weeks. One thing about having a homestead is the commitment that you think won't be a big deal, until it's -33 degrees F and you still have to feed the goats. Fortunately, packing on the layers like a marshmallow man, I was relatively protected from the snow.

My eyes froze shut a few times, but in the end, the goats and chickens got what they needed. It's fascinating that they can handle the weather like champions. Nature really did build them animals different, didn't it? I'll add a pic of me tending to the buck below.

The Etcher's Plight (my current WIP) is still in the works, with a somewhat closer end in sight. I think I've at least imagined the ending, so that's better than not knowing at all! I'm at 137,000 words now with still plenty to write. I appreciate all those who said they'd be interested in BETA reading it! I'll let you know when I get to that part of the process.

Look, being an author has its ups and downs. Sometimes those downs are heavier than the ups and we lose motivation to write. Join me and Mackenzie Friel as we talk about what things you can do to keep the motivation and love for writing alive, as well as bring your stories to life in interesting ways.
