Kidding Season and Book Finishing Energy

Hey there!
The past week has been a lot more wild than we expected! We knew that the goats would be having their babies soon, but goat labor is never the same, even though we've been doing this for years. Janis (yes, named after the assassin in The Lightbearer Chronicles series) hasn't ever had babies before, so we expected her to only have one. Well...she surprised us with three. And she had the kids almost silently so we weren't even aware that she did.
Unfortunately, one of the babies died, and one was so sick that we had to nurse her to health and bottle feed her. Fortunately, she's doing really well now (albeit she's very very tiny) and she's back out with the other goats (pic at the end of the email). On top of that, Magness (yes another book character name ;)) dropped her babies in the middle of the goat pen and left them. She was a another first timer and still has to learn about being a mother.
These two babies are fine, fat, and healthy, so we are grateful for that.
Despite the goat kidding craziness, the first book of my six book YA fantasy series, Dragonblooded, has reached 76,000 words. Also, the first book of my co-authored series, The Search for Silence, has been edited and is ready for beta readers. This is a middle grade book, so if you have kids that love to read, or you like to read them, just let me know if you'd like to BETA!
