What is Your Favorite Holiday Tradition?
Jan 11, 2024 9:49 pm
Hey there!
Just when I thought things couldn't possibly get more interesting, more unexpected things popped up. Not the least of which was the copious amounts of wind and snow that came out of nowhere. That, plus the negative degree weather right around the corner--let's just say that animal chores are going to take quite a bit longer than they usually do. I think the best part about the snow is how excited the children get. They spent a lot of time outside for the past few days building up a bit pile so they can slide down it.
Don't be fooled by how low the snow looks. The wind just made sure that it wouldn't stay in one spot. Instead, our barn is covered in massive snowdrifts. But the best thing about the cold? It's a great motivator to curl up with a good book. Nothing like a hot drink, curled up on the couch with an epic fantasy book.
Where is your favorite place to read books?
I normally prefer to sit up while reading, on account of falling asleep, but mine would be in a reading nook, nice and cramped, with the window open and the sound and smell of rain coming through. Now I just need to move somewhere warmer and more rainy to get that more often.
My Progress This Week
This week I'm happy to say that I've reached just under 103K for Demonblooded. I thought for sure there would be a lot more to write, but my discovery writing mind shifted the whole ending to a new option that I hadn't considered in the first place. You would think that I'd learn to trust my intuition more in my writing by now but I'm still constantly surprised. Needless to say, you're going to love this book.
I've also been working on gathering all the materials I'll need for the LTUE conference in Provo, Utah next month. Who knew that prepping for my first vendor table would be so involved? I'm anxiously (and nervously) waiting for the day I'll get to meet a lot of other authors in person. That said, my book stock is going to be bolstered for at least a short time, so if you're hoping to grab a signed copy of any of my books, now's a great time!

New Episode of The Casual Author!
When confronted with challenges, we as the authors have the decision to stop, or press onward and persevere through them. Sometimes it's about just making that decision. Sometimes, it takes a bit more than that. Join Lynn Lipinski and me as we delve into how mindset can press. you through the hard times in authoring.
