Making Swords and Tackling the Editing
Jun 22, 2023 3:01 pm
Hey there!
Weekends are usually as busy if not more busy than weekdays because of all the chores going on. Now that we have four different sets of chickens, we have four times the chicken chores every day. Fortunately, the kids love to help us out with them. This last week I set up the electric fence for our oldest egg laying flock so that they can take advantage of the fields behind our house. Needless to say they are happy as can be.
Despite the busyness, I make time for the important things. Namely, making cardboard swords for each of the kids (yes, even the baby). The one thing I don't want my kids to ever forget is the power of the imagination. I'm positive I would be less successful in my job and less of a problem solver without my imagination. So taking the time for swords is essential (see the pics at the bottom of the email).
The other important thing going on is editing Dragonblooded. I've started that with a passion, and I am very very pleased with what I'm finding. I'm enthralled by the story and am loving reading through it again. It's clear I have improved a lot since The Lightbearer Chronicles, which is very encouraging. If I can edit about two chapters a day, I should be on target for getting it to BETA readers by the middle of July! If you'd like to be one of these, just let me know and I'll add you to the list.
