It's that time again!

I don't have much to share, but what I do have should keep you entertained until I have more...

As you are all well aware, my daughter is grown. But my friends still have little kids, and we get invited to birthday parties regardless of whether we have a kid to attend. This past weekend we celebrated with friends, and I thought I would share some photos.

I have been working non stop on THE BISHOP.

Allegra and Bishop have been clamoring for a while to get out of my head and onto paper but I knew this was going to be a difficult story to write. Both of them have already been through so much and I am going to put them through even more.

He looks up, and I see it... regret, hope, and a flicker of fear. Vulnerability doesn’t suit him, but he wears it anyway.

“To try,” he says. “To fix what I broke. And to stay, if you’ll let me.”

“You let me leave,” I whisper. “I waited… and you just stayed away.”

“I know,” he says, voice breaking.

“You acted like a world-class dickhead when I tried to contact you. And then I ended up alone - with a test in my hand and a world that suddenly felt like it was closing in.”

“I’m sorry,” he murmurs.

But sorry doesn’t erase the pain.

“I don’t need a hero,” I say.

“I didn’t come here to save you,” he replies, steady now. “I came here to be better. To be something more than what I was raised to be. I came here to show you I can be worthy.”

And damn… that hits harder than it should.
