Can you believe we are in a new year?

My days blur into one long writing sprint, and needless to say, I’m having the time of my life. The only thing that could be said for distraction is that it comes in all forms.

Hubby bought me a brand new keyboard, and the lights are intoxicating. It’s so fun when the love of your life understands and gifts you things to further your career.

Because did I mention the stationery?

Now, after my very comprehensive brag session, I also have some other exciting news to share.

Sweet Misery is out, and let me tell you, I was completely overwhelmed by the response. My readers are the bes,t and to have my preorders triple from the first book to the next was such a rush.

I do realize that I’m still a small fry in comparison with other more distinguished authors, but you are literally making my dreams come true. There is something so exhilarating about getting up every morning and seeing more pages read the day before.

I am expecting it to only grow and for you to grow with me, but at the moment, being part of this community and chatting to readers and making new friends has transformed my life. And I can never thank you enough.

You have changed this shy, damaged person into someone who believes in the kindness of other beings again. And I just want to express how grateful I am that you took a chance on me and my words.

You will never grasp the impact you have on my humble beginnings and hopefully future endeavors

My organizational skills suck.

I try so hard, but every day I find that I forget something, or my favorite, I completely miss the boat.

Does it count in my favor that the boats are getting smaller?

Either way, I am at least halfway with Rose and Bastian’s story, and as any dutiful author would do, I actually plotted this book out. I made notes, wrote descriptions, and set my characters on a path of redemption.

And by the second chapter, they gave me a big middle finger and decided to change the plan completely. Why is it that every time I want to do the right thing, the wrong way works so much better?

After much deliberation, aka drinking Christmas cocktails early in the morning because you know, I’m fecking festive, I decided to let go of the reins and just see where the story takes me.

To my utter delight, I already have four preorders for every book in this series. Now I don’t know who you are, you gorgeous creatures, but you made my day.

I recently joined a wonderful group of local authors, and now I’m fighting for my life in the writing trenches as we are all entangled in a word war.

Honestly, I’m just so happy to be a part of something, but it does seem to boost my word count to know that I’m accountable to the group to do something for the day.
