Happy 2026!
Dec 28, 2025 12:31 am
Dear Friend,
Festive season greetings!
I am going to take you on a non-astrological trip!
In 2015, around this time of the year, I was writing detailed astrology reports for $50. Everything was written. I would sit with the chart, write very carefully, revise my words multiple times, and send the report to clients.
Around that phase, I had also started doing a few live readings on Skype. But I was not truly happy doing them as I did not have a professional astrology software then. I could not generate or send proper charts, and I knew people expected to see something tangible and professional. I had none of that. I had sincerity, and intention, but no tools.
One of my clients sensed this. She herself was going through a very difficult phase in her life, and I helped her with a few electional charts and a detailed written report. I did not charge her anything because the chart clearly showed that she was financially struggling.
After she recovered from her surgery and as her situation slowly improved, she asked me a simple question. If she were to donate astrology software, which one would I choose?
I told her “Kala Vedic Astrology software”. It was the most affordable option at the time, and it had everything I needed. For some reason, online payment was not possible then. So she very kindly sent a cheque for $108 directly to Ernst Wilhelm. Within two or three days, I had a registered astrology software of my own.
I still remember that moment very clearly and the gratitude I felt.
Two years before that, my father had passed away. I was financially broken. As a family, we ate vegetables only two days a week and I gave whatever little money I had to my twin younger sisters as pocket money. Buying a software that cost around ₹7,000 was not even part of my wildest imagination. Owning an astrology software simply did not exist as a possibility in my mind.
But that one gesture changed things.
I stopped writing reports after that and moved fully into live readings on Skype. I was 27 then. Looking back now, I can see how far that single act of kindness carried me. I will never forget that woman, who even refused to share her real name with me. She was deeply private, and I respected that.
During this recent Mercury retrograde, while importing my contacts from Google, I stumbled upon her email address. I immediately stopped what I was doing and wrote to her after ten years. I simply wished her well. She replied saying she was doing very well and living a happy, content life in her late 70s.
While Kala took my practice from having no program to having a professional astrology software with real tools, many people in the astrolgical community have played a role for who I am today and it also includes you, my reader, have contributed to my life in ways you may never realise.
I have written these letters consistently, with only two short pauses along the way since 2019. This writing has not just made me a better communicator. It has made me more grounded. More grateful. More accepting. Every letter teaches me something.
Even if you have not taken a course with me or had a consultation from me, you have played a role simply by reading. That alone matters to me. I am deeply grateful that you are here.
I wish you a beautiful, purposeful, happy, healthy, peaceful, and prosperous 2026.

Inward Glance
Epictetus' Discourses: A Retelling
Book I, Chapter 6, 1.6.38 to 1.6.43
Epictetus now becomes very direct, almost confrontational, because he is addressing a deep misunderstanding about life and the divine order. He points out that instead of recognising what has been given to us, many of us spend our time crying, complaining, and blaming. Some people deny the very existence of a benefactor, unable to see any order or care in the world. Others accept that there is a divine principle, yet still accuse it, treating life as if it were unfairly arranged against them. I feel like he almost implies that humans tend to have a victim mentality.
Epictetus sees this as a failure of perception. When a person constantly complains, it shows that they have not understood what they possess and it not necessarily emotional weakness. They focus entirely on what they lack, on discomforts, losses, and imagined threats, while overlooking the resources already placed within them. This blindness makes them resentful rather than reflective. Gratitude goes for a toss.
Epictetus then turns the argument around. He says he is willing to prove that human beings are not fragile by design. On the contrary, we are equipped with strength, resilience, and an inner structure capable of meeting life as it comes. Our capacity for reason, choice, and judgment is not accidental. It is stable, reliable, and sufficient. If this is true, then the burden of explanation shifts. If we truly possess such inner resources, what justifies our constant irritation, fear, and dissatisfaction?
In other words, if we are built to endure, to adapt, and to respond wisely, why do we behave as though we are helpless victims? Why do we sulk, panic, or accuse the gods when events do not go our way? Epictetus is not dismissing pain or difficulty. He is questioning the habit of self pity that ignores our own strength.
The final challenge is sharp and honest. If someone claims that life is unbearable, Epictetus asks them to show where exactly they are lacking. Is it reason? Is it courage? Is it the ability to choose how they respond? Because if these are intact, then the problem does not lie in life itself, but in how we are using what we have been given.
Epictetus intends this portion not meant to shame but to awaken. He is calling us back to a recognition of our own dignity. We are not weak by nature. We are not abandoned. We are not without tools. The real tragedy is not hardship, but failing to realise that we were built to meet it.
