Important Announcement Regarding APSS Treasurer Position
Aug 29, 2023 4:31 am
Dear APSS Members,
We hope this message finds you well. We want to inform you of a significant decision made by the Board of Directors of the APSS Association.
After thorough deliberation and consideration of recent events, we regret to announce that a serious situation has led to the termination of Dr. Chinnu Palanivelu from his position as Treasurer and a member at Asia Professional Speakers Singapore (APSS).
The decision was reached following a Notice of Removal by Vote of No-Confidence, and it is in line with our commitment to upholding the values and standards of our organization. We assure you that this decision was taken after careful assessment and with the best interests of APSS in mind.
We want to emphasize that while we cannot disclose the reasons behind this decision, it was made to ensure the integrity and cohesion of the APSS community. It was determined that his actions are in direct violation of our organization's principles and the APSS Code of Conduct, particularly Articles 2 and 5:
Article 2:
"The APSS member shall act, operate his/her business, and speak on a high professional level to neither offend nor bring discredit to the speaking profession."
Article 5:
"The APSS member shall treat other speakers with professional courtesy, dignity, and respect."
We want to clarify that any breach of these fundamental rules will result in actions being taken according to the association's guidelines. Any disciplinary action implemented will be final; members cannot challenge it with the association or its representatives.
In light of this situation, we have appointed Pauline Kirk as the Interim Treasurer to ensure the smooth continuation of our financial operations.
We value each member's contributions and commitment to our organization and will continue working together to create a positive and professional environment.
Please get in touch with Arishta Khanna (President) or Tay Guan Hin ( Immediate Past President) for any questions or concerns. Your understanding and ongoing support are deeply appreciated.
Thank you for being a valued part of the APSS community.
Warm regards,
Arishta Khanna
President APSS
