We would like to give you the information about the First Cut of the Speaker's Idol 2024. As the Speaker's Academy winner - you are pre-qualified for the Semi-Final and you don't need to submit a 5-minute video for this round.

The following participants have been awarded the opportunity to advance to the BASE ROUND.

We would also like to announce 2 of our judges who will be watching your recording and decide the next 8 from 12 who will make it to the next round. We are extremely fortunate to have these veterans be a part of the pioneer run of APSS Speaker's Idol 2024.

In this round, the First Cut participants will be assessed by our judges through a 5-minute recording of your speech and the judges will only pick 8 to the next round. At this juncture, their speech title and content should be an expanded version of what they have sent in their first submission and more or less confirmed. Here are the instructions for they to follow and how the round will play out:

How to participate in this round:

Produce the expanded 5-minute version of your speech, practice, record, and submit!

Pointers to note:

• The BASE ROUND Speech must be recorded standing up not seated, can be walking /moving about though the audio should be clear.
• Get some help from the community (if you've got a mentor, ask for their feedback too!)
• Record your 5-minute video and save your file name as Name_Speech Title

Judging Criteria:

• Content and Message Clarity - How easily understood is your speech content and message?
• Delivery and Presentation Style - How well you have practiced your stagework?
• Originality and Creativity - How different is your content from what's available?
• Professionalism - How Bookable and Billable are you?
