Yesterday, it was a pandemic. Today, it's a war that can have worldwide implications. Tomorrow it might be something else. How do you stay on course? How do you build creativity in your speaking business? How do you remain resilient, no matter what life throws at you?

We have heard multiple stories around this and every time, our speakers inspire us and motivate us. On March 29, 2022, we present to you three industry veterans who have faced it all and have thrived. Join us to hear them speak and share with the APSS community what it takes to grow your speaking business.

STAYING THE COURSE ON YOUR SPEAKER JOURNEY

Are you struggling to stay on course? Does it feel like you have misplaced your chutzpah due to the recent world events? Do you truly want to continue growing your professional speaker business?

If there is anyone who has had her fair share of personal and professional challenges and has risen above it all, it’s Catherine.

Surviving life-threatening illness, then moving location, she has had to start over again twice since. Catherine has guided hundreds of speakers to their own business success. She is currently delivering CSP Pathway, an 8-month journey for professional speakers to help them grow $A100K p.a. businesses.

In her time with us, she will share the key aspects of that journey and give you very specific guidance on how you can grow your speaker business.

The main takeaways from her session will be:

The 3 reasons people fail…so you won’t.

– How to design your business model…the one that is uniquely yours.

– What to say on the phone, when you call prospective clients.

– Simple rules for product development for sustainable revenue.

Catherine has coached and mentored many thousands of emerging leaders and business owners, including many of her professional speaker mates.

Fredrik Haren, CSP Global Speaking Fellow

SPEAKING IDEAS FROM A CREATIVITY SPEAKER.

Come and collect speaking nuggets that you can use to build your own speaking career. Fredrik Haren will share insights and ideas around how he built a global speaking business around the lifestyle that he craved.

The key learnings from his session will be:

– How to structure your work as an unstructured speaker.

– How to sell as a person who hates to sell.

– How to think around your brand and brand what you think.

In-town guests have the special option to join Fredrik as he generously hosts an in-person option. You can watch the same whole meeting streamed there as well and watch Fredrik’s presentation live and in person, and more importantly, network with other APSS members in real life.

Power Tips Speaker: Sunshine Irene Hamons

Strengthening the 4 Areas of Resilience

The pandemic caught us off guard. Our businesses got disrupted way beyond our imagination. Personal and professional lives got impacted and we faced massive uncertainties. It’s like we were in the midst of a hurricane and our life was out of control.

How do we ensure that we do not face a similar mindset challenge again? How can we continue to grow despite the disruptions? Is it possible to stay prepared for the uncertainties that life presents to us?

Some of us have been slowly progressing and are doing well now, while others are still caught up in the chaos of it all.

The one thing that has allowed us to operate and maybe thrive is RESILIENCE.

Resilience helps us to stay 'Positive' in the face of uncertainty and constant change. In my opinion, COVID-19 is a "FAST-FORWARD" access card to the Future. It forced us to think about what we could achieve as individuals and as a team, which would have taken us years otherwise. Developing our own and our team's resilience exposed us to new ways of thinking (wisdom) and doing things (Strength).

2 Key Takeaways:

1. Use visuals to support our reflection and provide clarity

2. Create a plan to build the muscles of our 4 Areas of Resilience
