You may remember the makeover of monthly meetings Guan and I alluded to at the September monthly meeting. This email is to give you some more details about it.

But first a some quick announcements: 

We just concluded an exciting run of the Speaker's academy thanks to the selfless and continued support of Tim Wade and our volunteers.

There were some fantastic lessons and conversations that took place. APSS is nothing without its volunteers including those in the exco. The sheer hours

that go into keeping the backstage of the association humming is a testimony to the love we have for our community. We also did a small celebration online of our 18th bday 

(hope you saw all the fabulous birthday messages from Past Presidents).

Monthly meeting makeover

The exciting thing that I wanted to share with you is more information on the 'makeover', which is based on insights from members and the survey conducted in Aug-Sept 2021. 

We will pilot this makeover with 3 of the 12 monthly meetings, with the goal to have more intimate learning conversations and content best suited to the stage of speaking business of the AM and PM group. It will allow us to dive deeper with greater value added content based on the needs of each group separately.

1. What is the difference between regular monthly meetings and the 3 'upgraded' monthly meetings ?

The upgraded monthly meeting is a closed door, member only event. It is a pilot of only 3 out of the 12 monthly meetings in a year. In the upgraded meetings, the AMs will meet as a group for AMA (ask me anything) and the PMs will meet as a group for their series of 'Scale it up’ events.  

2. What happens to regular monthly meetings ?

The remaining 9 monthly meetings will not change. We will meet as a community (everyone together) as we have been doing now for the last 18 years. However, after 18 years of doing the same thing we wanted to pilot something new with 3 of the monthly meetings. 

November is the first upgrade monthly meeting. December and January we are back to regular monthly meetings. We will let you know when the next upgraded monthly meeting is coming up. 

In any month where we do an upgraded monthly meeting, we won't have a regular (traditional format) monthly meeting.

3. Are upgrade monthly meetings free ?

Currently yes, as they are online. If we go hybrid (which we are working on) then it may have a nominal fee. 

4. When is the first of the 3 such meetings ? 

The first upgraded monthly meeting is next month in November. Please see the exciting line up below and sign up for your respective AM or PM huddle

5. Is this a permanent change?

Once the pilot is done we will gather more feedback from you to understand how helpful this format was and plan accordingly.
