It’s been a while since I last wrote, I hope you’re doing well!
I’m writing to you today today to update you on a few things- I’ve been busy with a big life change (moving to Belgium, redirecting my path and pursuing a new career in freelance sound design) and have been absolutely swamped. But I’ve been busy behind the scenes putting together something that you may find useful for your own productions.
You may or may not be aware, that over the last couple of years I’ve been moving further and further away from anything resembling a drum beat (in my productions that is), and ambient music is taking over my life more and more.
I’ve also been heavily into (read as addicted to) Eurorack Modular synths, which has been such a welcomed change from working in the box for over a decade, and has ultimately reintroduced an element of play and surprise that has been missing in my practice for a long time.
Over the last few months, this instrument has been vital in my ability to create really interesting and unique sounds/sound beds/atmospheres for my work, quickly and easily. And if you’ve been following me on Instagram you may have seen/heard these sound design explorations/collaborations yourself.
Point is, this machine is a creativity/inspiration generator- these modular synth recordings have been amazing in terms of being a launchpad for inspiration as well as serving as the focal points of tracks- and I’d be remiss if I were to hoard the gold that comes out of it just for myself.
And so I’m writing to you today to let you know that I’ve just put together a sample pack/toolkit that consists of over 100+ sounds/soundscapes from my explorations with modular synthesis, and I’d LOVE to share it with you when it’s released!
It’s being marketed as a “Toolkit for Motion + Sound”, as that’s currently the work that I find myself in, but honestly these sounds would feel right at home in any psytrance/psybass/ambient/downtempo track.
