Some good news...

You might remember how a few weeks ago, Izzy tried to eat a whole lot of inedible things, winding her in the emergency room. Now that we removed the blockage, she has been back to her playful self. She stayed still just long enough for us to take a photo to share with you.
Even when she hadn't eaten in a few days, this pup was always willing to play. Sticks are one of her favorites but given the contents we found in her stomach, she might have to take a break on those... |
Izzy is doing much better now and waiting for someone to choose her. She promised us she would do her very best not to eat any more bits of plastic.
While Izzy is doing amazing during her recovery, we couldn't help but remind you of our most recent rescue case: Dudley.
Dudley was one of three dogs who were left to their own devices outside, trapped by a fence. He hadn't been groomed in who knows how long, and his matted fur was hiding something we have never seen before. Maggots. Beyond the dirt and infection, poor Dudley had live maggots crawling on his wounds. Given how sensitive his skin is underneath, we have only been able to shave off patches at a time, he needs us to be patient with him. Dudley will need medication to fight his infection and time to heal before he can be adopted. While he trusted us immediately, we want to prove to him that we will be there for him, no matter what he needs. |
