TidyCal Updates: New Features & Improvements

We're excited to share some great improvements to TidyCal.

Here's what we've been building for you:

Booking Rating and Review System ⭐️

After a booking is completed, clients can now rate and review their experience directly through TidyCal.

How it works:

• Bookers receive an email invitation to rate their appointment (1-5 stars) and leave optional feedback
• You'll receive email notifications and in-app alerts when new reviews are submitted
• View and respond to all reviews in the new Reviews dashboard
• Reviews display directly on booking details pages
• Toggle review requests on/off per booking type in your settings

This feature helps you gather valuable feedback, improve your services, and build social proof with potential clients.

The review system is available right now in your booking type editor for Individual and Agency Plan customers.

Former Time Display During Rescheduling 🔄

When rescheduling a booking, you'll now see a clear "Former Time" label beneath the original time slot.

This makes it easy to see which time slot you're moving from, helping you make better rescheduling decisions. This enhancement makes the rescheduling process clearer and more user-friendly.

Available right now for all users.

Calendar & Integration Improvements 📅 ✅

We've made significant improvements for all users with connected calendars:

Calendar Sync Reliability:

• Microsoft Calendar sync now runs reliably in the background without queue blocking issues
• Apple Calendar sync includes the same reliability improvements
• Automatic periodic synchronization now works consistently even during busy periods

Email Confirmation Options:

• New toggle in booking type settings to switch between calendar invitations and email confirmations
• Choose the notification style that works best for your workflow

Microsoft Teams Integration:

• Email notifications now sent automatically when Teams meeting creation fails
• Helps you catch and resolve integration issues quickly

Your calendars should now stay in sync automatically without manual intervention.

• Enhanced weekly digest email - Dynamic subject lines with dates, non-TidyCal calendar events included, and personalized messaging based on your booking status
• AI-powered translation system - Automated translation command using OpenAI and Anthropic to accelerate multi-language support across 40+ languages with 98.4% success rate
• AI security features - Automatic phishing detection and user banning to protect the TidyCal community from malicious booking types
• Theme editor improvements - Pick from previously saved themes for faster booking page customization
• Team features enhancements - Improved team user information display, horizontal scrolling with arrows, fixed custom email reminder toggle persistence, and team avatar fixes in social preview cards
• Round Robin improvements - Fixed silent error handling in Round Robin booking forms with better error messaging for all Agency Plan customers
• Translation improvements - Added missing booking_rescheduled key, fixed French "and" → "et" in calendar invitations, improved Swedish button text, fixed German cancel button, and translated "Click here to book again" and "Make your own booking page" buttons
• Downtime compensation - Automatically assigned 14-day free trials to users affected by September downtime
• Bug fixes - Fixed booking page undefined variable errors, null pointer errors in calendar access and ICS generation, 'unknown organizer' in confirmation emails, guest bookings setting for managed booking types, and rate limit on settings page
• AppSumo licensing integration improvements - Fixed missing return statement and automatic trial expiration on activation/tier changes for all Lifetime customers
• Technical improvements - Allow longer Microsoft Teams URLs, updated Node.js, bumped axios version for security, improved scroll button styling, updated pricing page accuracy, added deleted indicator for trashed booking types in admin view, and include bookings from soft-deleted booking types in user relationships
