Let's talk about REVIEWS!!
Since we mentioned this in our meeting, I came to my thoughts that some people may not know how to leave the perfect review.
Leaving Reviews for Other Members of ANP
Here are some tips to get the most out of our group leaving reviews for one another's business.
Search FIRST:
- Searching their category and business name is the best way to get results for the person you are leaving a review. Remember you can use the directory: directory.anpdfw.com to see their company name and category.
- Start by searching their business name and category (this helps their rankings and helps Google identify search terms): Ex: "Primary care doctor Maple Primary" or "chiropractor revolution chiropractor" (capital letters do not matter when searching)
- Then, you can try using their personal name and category if you don't get good results, Ex: "criminal lawyer Alex Fuller" or "realtor Lisa Lanier Allen"
- If they work for a corporation with multiple branches, search with their name, company and city: "life insurance eric hall new york life frisco"
Leaving the review:
- If you have been a customer of theirs, leave the review focused on what they did and how they helped and include their business name.
- Format: Who, did what, what were the results. Ex: "Toni from A Little Help was able to sit with my elderly mother while I had to go out of town for a trip. She was caring and my Mother feels like she found a new friend and I found much needed help."
- If you have NOT used their services, the review is based on experience with them as a person or what you learned from them.
- Format: Who, what they do, my experience from them. Ex: "I've known Larry Kozeny for over a year and I am amazed at the knowledge he has about the world of medical insurance. I have learned things I never knew about the insurance plans and feel like a more informed consumer."
Consider Timing:
Note: It may help to spread out the reviews. Don't do them all in one day. As a matter of fact, Google may see it as irregular activity and discount it, if everyone got 30 reviews who never had any.
Consider doing one or two a day for a month or create a review after you have a one on one with someone.
What else can we do to help each other grow our online presence?
- Leave 5 stars...if you mean it.
- Make sure to include specifically a service or product that best represents the person.
- You can leave a picture as part of your Google review. If you used their services, it may help to have a photo of their product or location, but it is not necessary.
- Consider leaving reviews on their Facebook page.
- Consider recommending skills on LinkedIn.
- All of us should leave a Facebook review for ANP: facebook.com/anpdfw
- If you are bold, consider a video!!

Great outline! I would suggest that members like and respond to each other's reviews as it fosters a sense of community and engagement. And I would also like to mention that it is important not only for the receiving party to leave a positive review but also for the reviewer. If reviews are regularly sent, it will build a sustained online presence for both parties. For those who are represented on social media platforms, I would encourage the members to share their positive reviews on social media platforms to increase visibility and potentially attract a wider audience.
