Latest News
I haven't actually done much since my last newsletter, except edit my next book, 'Forever Mine', and by edit, I mean reading my manuscript and making comments. The comments go like... 'elaborate here', 'but she wasn't wearing tights?' and 'too dirty for my mum'.
The edits and re-writes were going so well and I was almost ready to send out to my writing girls for critique—until Bridgerton hit the screen.
Three days later after binging the second series, I'm back on track... but what a fantastic three days it's been. I must admit I wasn't a fan of the first series until about half way through, but season two played out wonderfully and I may have a thing for the Viscount.
Who's your favourite Bridgerton? Tell me on my IG or FB post. I have to mention another character that's stole my heart—being a fat lass myself—it's no surprise that I relate to Penelope. I can't wait for her story. In the meantime, I will have to make do with the book.
Picture was taken by me at Newstead Abbey in Nottinghamshire, not far from my home town. This was home to Lord Byron once upon a time.
Writing Tips for Beginners
A few of you who completed my survey asked for writing tips for beginners, so I wanted to share my story and what and who inspired me...
I've always cooked up stories in my head for as long as I can remember, however, I never had the confidence to share them, let alone write them down on paper. Art was my thing not English lit.
I first discovered Wattpad several years ago when 'After' by Anna Todd was trending. I watched her books turn into a huge success and she was my inspiration.
I started writing in secret and never told anyone, not even my husband. I joined several romance writing groups on Facebook and we swapped stories. Finding a group of like minded writers is key and we're still friends to this day.
A great book that helped me get started is 'Show don't Tell' I love this little book, small and thin enough to keep in my handbag. I would carry it around with me and when I had a spare half an hour, I would read one of the sections. There's also exercises too—and not the sweaty kind, unless adverbs get you going. insert smiley emoji! The price is great too!
