It ain't easy

👋
Dear all,
One a more personal note…I am not going to lie: it’s tough!
No surprise when you have a 2,5 year old toddler and an almost 3 month old. You cease to exist, only exist to function and day dream both those short couple of hours at the end of the day when both kids are asleep and the house is silent, and you can finally take over the world 😅
No grandparents, no relatives nearby, close friends have their own lives to worry about and we are also not used to ask for help. We rely heavily on ourselves and end up getting very used to that.
But help is out there: be it in form of a phone call, a nanny agency or the Berliner welfare offer “Känguru Hilft”
A father I met during that camping trips works as a social worker and told me about this service. And what do they do?
Volunteers and trained employees come to your home. They are the contact persons for questions concerning the baby. If necessary, they can also take over the care of the baby by the hour, accompany you to the pediatrician, go shopping or take care of the older siblings.
The service is provided by arrangement on an hourly basis and is limited in time. The offer is free of charge and can be taken up by all families and single parents. In a conversation you will get to know the Kangaroo employee and if you like her, the scope of support will be determined.
The first step is always the toughest, but knowing that help like this exist, is a great booster! Make sure to share with your circle of families and friends.
Hope you all are managing 😌
Have a great week!
Take care!
Your André
