So... Something popped up on my notifications that made my heart hurt so much. People shaming women (and men) for divorce parties. 💔 Divorce CAN be sad BUT what if it's not? What if that was a toxic relationship and they are now free to let their true self soar? 👏 You know what? When I filed for divorce I was FILLED with relief and #gratitude to be LEAVING an ABUSIVE and completely TOXIC environment. I shared that excitement with someone I believed to be my best friend at the time. They scolded me. Yes. They scolded a grown ass woman for knowing what she needed and following through on it. That moment broke me... For a minute. Then I did what I always do. I got back up and wished them #love and #peace in their #life, hoping they'd never be in a place where they would be forced to understand why my divorce was a moment of celebration for me. Then I continued to celebrate. I still celebrate that moment. Never let anyone hold you back or keep you in a dark place. You've been planted.
