[AWV🦊] Summer Festivals in Nonogawa and Free Books
Aug 05, 2025 11:01 am
Greetings dear Chroniclers,
I hope your summer (or winter if you're in the southern hemisphere) is going well! Are you keeping cool (or warm)?
Summer in Japan is known for its really hot and humid weather, but also for some of the best festivals! If you didn't know already, matsuri is the Japanese word for these traditional festivals.
So, I've collected up a few of the matsuri in my Liminal Chronicles universe based on their real-world counterparts.
Otaue Matsuri - Rice Planting Festival - Turning a backbreaking chore into a competition makes the task fun for the whole community!

Nonogawa River Valley Float Festival and Race based on a "fighting" float festival that I got to see the beginnings of in Okayama Prefecture.

Hotaru Park Soba Day - Not all celebrations have to be big! Sometimes just a down day in the hottest part of the year is a hit.
Here's a few posts on some of the best real-world summer festivals in Japan.

I hope you enjoy these peeks into the Liminal Chronicles world and Japanese society.

Free stories in the Liminal Chronicles universe are available for a limited time. So grab them while you can.
Would you visit Japan in the heat of summer to see these incredible matsuri?
Be the Difference. Be extraordinary.

All the best,
