What's the benefit of telling the truth?

I know my post from last week was also about self-care but I couldn't resist highlighting today's tip in my email:

Telling the truth is the cleanest way to live and keeps your thoughts simple. As stated above, there are huge benefits.

But, here's my list of what you get if you don't tell the truth:

  • You have to remember ever whisper, every moment and every subtlety shared with everyone for the rest of your life
  • You'll constantly wonder why people lack respect for you and don't trust you enough to even water their plants
  • You'll be great at having short term relationships with people you'll never likely see again but lack deep, meaningful connections
  • You'll constantly second guess yourself and question how to make good decisions on your own
  • You'll lack opportunity
  • You'll be tired all the time trying to keep up with your lies
  • People will catch you in your lies and you'll feel cornered and powerless to control the narrative
  • Everyone will lie to you

Ultimately, it's just easier to tell the truth,
