Hello ,
We are thrilled to invite you to join us at the 2024 NYC Dementia ARTS Festival being held on Thursday, April 11th at the Marjorie Deane Little Theatre in Manhattan.
The festival is a collaboration between us and our friends at the Dementia Spring Foundation. It features both a daytime matinee and an evening performance featuring a star-studded line up of songwriters, comedians, poets, playwrights, filmmakers, and artists telling new stories of dementia and Alzheimerโs disease, breaking down stereotypes, and bringing hope to the dementia community.
Youโll be treated to live performances by:
- Jess King, singer/songwriter and creator of Here And Now
- Sam Simon, playwright and creator of Dementia Man, an Existential Journey, the story of his own diagnosis of Alzheimerโs disease
- Kim Blanck, actress and creator of Gloria, starring Emily Kuroda of Gilmore Girls. (Gloria is being privately screened at the festival)
- Flako Jimenz, poet, playwright and advocate, creator of Mercedes, the stage play
- Arlieta Hall, actress, comedian and creator of the original documentary film Finding Your Laughter
A very special Keynote Address on the importance of caregiving and its impact on families and communities will be given by Kitty Norton, creator of the original film Wine, Women and Dementia. Kitty, an AlzAuthor, has been on tour with her film for the past year, listening and engaging with caregiving families from all walks of life, nationwide.
Please register for the daytime matinee or evening performances HERE.
The 2024 NYC Dementia ARTS Festival is a one of a kind event that will feature original work, expert panels, networking, and a vendor fair for aging resources.
Proceeds are used to fund artists and art therapists who are bringing hope, joy and creativity to the dementia community through their work.
We hope to see you at this fantastic event.
