Introducing AlzAuthors Round Robin Book Review Circles
Nov 02, 2021 3:01 pm
Dear AlzAuthor,
One of the best ways to gain credibility for your book and increase sales is to receive positive book reviews, especially positive book reviews from other authors who know what you're talking about.
Introducing AlzAuthors Round Robin Book Review Circles, where you can receive a book review from another AlzAuthor in exchange for your review of a book in our collection.
How to start a Round Robin Review Circle for your book:
- You must be a member of AlzAuthors Round Robin Book Review Circles to participate. AlzAuthors will invite all our authors on Facebook to contribute. The best way to determine this is to check if you’re a member of AlzAuthors private Writers Group on Facebook. If you are not in this group please reach out to us to include you. Note: You must be “friends” with at least one member of the Management Team to be invited to join this group. If you are not on Facebook please let us know and we will come up with another way to include you.
- Start a new thread in the comments on the group page: https://www.facebook.com/groups/927365464864091/about.
- Describe your book, including title, genre, and word count. You may include the link to your AlzAuthors post if you would like to provide more information about you and your book.
- Interested authors will respond in the reply to your comment to join your circle. Please correspond privately from that point on via Messenger or email.
- It's best to agree to a time limit to complete and post reviews when possible, to avoid hard feelings, such as 30 days or two weeks. It’s up to you.
- Edit the post to read "FULL CIRCLE" when three authors have agreed to this round of reviews. At this point, no one else should enter this circle.
- Post your reviews on as many sites as possible, including Amazon US, Amazon UK, Amazon Canada, Goodreads, your blog/website, social media pages, and wherever the author requests.
- In the initial Round Robin comment, post the links to your review(s) so others may see the circle is complete and read your reviews.
Important Notes:
1. Review books may be digital, paperback, or audio, per the author's/reviewer's preference.
2. It's best to buy the books you review to a.) give the author a boost and b.) make it a Verified Purchase. Amazon likes that. However, authors do reserve the right to offer review copies at no cost if they choose.
3. This is not an opportunity to falsely bolster AlzAuthors books. Please be honest in your reviews, but also be courteous.
4. You may state in your acceptance of a review book that you will decline to write the review if you cannot give it a minimum of 3 stars.
5. Our goal is to support one another, so before posting a negative (1 or 2 star) review please contact the author and gently notify him or her that the review may not be what they expect. (Honestly, all AlzAuthors books have been vetted by the Management Team so there shouldn't be any 1 or 2-star reviews, but then again everyone is entitled to his or her own opinion.)
6. Please don't post something in a review that you wouldn't want to see in a review of one of your own books.
7. Let the author know if there are crazy formatting problems.
8. You are free to add your name, author of blah blah blah to the end of the review if you'd like to add credibility.
9. Reviewers: Enter these circles at your own risk. Try to choose books you will enjoy reading, especially those in your own genre or of a similar situation.
10. Authors: Understand that entering a review circle doesn't guarantee a 4 or 5-star review, or any review at all.
