Author Scott Rose Shares His Memoir, We Danced
May 24, 2022 7:37 pm
Dear AlzAuthor,
At age 67, and a decade post-retirement, my life could be slowing down, but quite the opposite is true. I remain energized and am involved in new learning each day because of AlzAuthors. I love connecting with you, our authors, and learning your stories. We help launch your experiences into the world to support others currently on the journey.
Each story is like a piece of sea glass, so unique...edges softened, worn, smoothed. Life wears us down through caregiving, but it can also smooth and soften us into a more compassionate version of ourselves. Take heart, Alzheimer's caregivers. You are not alone.
All of us on our management team want to tell you that you inspire us daily by allowing AlzAuthors to promote your work.
Thank you!

Introducing Our Latest Author:
Have you seen this gorgeous book? Scott Rose pours his spouse caregiver story out in We Danced: Our Story of Love and Dementia.
Scott writes:
I watched all the things that we built start to fade as things do, but saw our love remain β the most important aspect of our life together. Despite communication barriers and behavioral crashes, we sustained that love till, and through her last breath, with me weeping at her bedside.

A long-time dream coming true...
For years we've wanted to find a way to get physical books into the hands of those who need them: caregivers and others concerned with dementia. With our tiny team of volunteers this seemed like a long shot. But our dream is coming true! We are now offering
real books
to real people
in real places
through Custom Caregiver Collections
Last week AlzAuthors presented a Custom Caregiver Collection to Carole Klingler, CEO and a Founder of a Dementia Friendly LIFE a 501c3 grassroots organization supporting people confronted by dementia. Carol is a Certified Dementia Practitioner, advocate and educator as well as a Master Trainer for Dementia Friends Ohio.
We owe a debt of gratitude to five special people who made this dream come true:
- author Paulette Sharkey for her generous donation to launch this project
- author and manager Susan Landeis and her husband, Randy, for the craftsmanship of these lovely table-top shelves which hold 15-20 books
- management team members Jean Lee and Ann Campanella who wouldn't let go of this dream.
Stay tuned as we bring you news in June about how you can become involved in this new initiative.
