Dear AlzAuthor,
From experiences that could have been discarded as insignificant, the 300+ authors of AlzAuthors have written powerful books to support a journey through Alzheimer's and dementia. These books combine to form a vast quilt of warmth and comfort. We heal one another and we provide healing for others by lifting the silence and stigma of dementia diseases.

Introducing our Latest Author
In My Name is Sharon, Dominick Domasky's touching memoir of his mother, he writes:
How was I supposed to know that the world would stop, and a global pandemic would settle in? I started writing this book cathartically, never expecting it to be read by others. I was chronicling our familyβs struggle and documenting the pain. Then I had an epiphany, Sharon Domasky is more than a victim of disease. I realized as a storyteller it was my duty to try and share her light with the world.

Who Was Caught Reading an AlzAuthors Book?
Senia Owensby was caught reading Dave Meurer's New Every Day. She says: βDave is a friend of my family, and we had a few conversations about loved ones and Alzheimer's. Since I know the people involved, this book means a lot to me. Besides, he is a fantastic writer!β Senia is the author of Finishing Well: Finding the Joy in Dementia. Send us a picture of yourself reading one of the AlzAuthors books and weβll post it here!

A long-time dream coming true...
Last Thursday we had the honor of presenting a Custom Caregiver Collection to the Alzheimer's Association support group at Soprema Senior Center in Wadsworth, Ohio. Thank you to all who believe so deeply in this project.
For years we've wanted to find a way to get physical books into the hands of those who need them: caregivers and others concerned with dementia. With our tiny team of volunteers this seemed like a long shot. But our dream is coming true! We are now offering
real books
to real people
in real places
through Custom Caregiver Collections
We are quickly placing our initial 10 collections in 10 locations throughout the U.S.
We owe a debt of gratitude to five special people who made this dream come true:
- author Paulette Sharkey for her generous donation to launch this project
- author and manager Susan Landeis and her husband, Randy, for the craftsmanship of these lovely table-top shelves which hold 15-20 books
- management team members Jean Lee and Ann Campanella who wouldn't let go of this dream.
Stay tuned as we bring you news about how you can become involved in this new initiative.
