Spooky Book Chat

Okay, so now that's done, let's chat about books that don't make me feel weird saying, "Hey, check this one out!"

I've said more than once, "When I grow up, I wanna be like Jordan L. Hawk." I stand by that. He's been one of my auto-buy authors for over a decade now, adept at weaving layers of nuance into stories like few other authors I've ever read. I've cackled out loud, gasped, and yes, cried reading his books.

Typically, I don't read historical books, but for Jordan's writing, I make exceptions. Between Widdershins, Hexworld, Spirits, and The Pride, multiple of his series have captured my imagination no matter the time period in which they're set.

But one of my all-time favorite series ever is SPECTR, and I frequently mutter, "Mortal nonsense," when something absurd crosses my path. I even have a t-shirt, the second iteration because the first needed replacing since I wore it so much. I love Gray, Caleb, and John so much.

I cannot think of a better book recommendation for my favorite day of the year than Jordan L. Hawk's SPECTR series. The first two 6-novella bundles are available in boxsets, and the third boxset is nearing release when the 6th and final novella releases soon. My understanding is that will be the completion of the SPECTR world. While I will be sad to say goodbye to these characters, they deserve their HEA. When it's finished, they will go on my shelves as beloved favorites of all time.
