Kedu, ?
Yep! This mama is finally catching her breathe...or is she? *laughs hysterical*
August started me on a chill pill. If you read my last newsletter, you would understand why I said so.
However, it looks like September heard the gist and decided that, "Aunty Nene, you don chill finish. Make we dey giddy up!" *chuckles*
It was as if after hosting my puff-puff party, I have been trying to catch my breathe!
From the podcast launch party to the end of summer to the kids resuming school to starting a 1-year program...
Life can get really busy to the point that you lose your breathe! *exhales slowly*
Ajala Nene, the Puff-Puff Girl *grins*
On a lighter note, I'm glad to announce that my podcast launch party went well.
As usual, my community came through for me.
It was well attended by family, close friends and some of my tourism folks. See HERE and HERE.
From the podcast listening session to the bubbling quiz game to putting Ajala Nene on the hot seat (Lol!) to eating hot yummy puff-puff and drinking delicious coffee by my Happy Coffee peeps...
It was a good day and I'm super grateful to everyone that attended *grateful child*
"How many times have you downplayed your achievements? Your silence about your accomplishments is not service, it is enabling your erasure" Luvvie Ajayi Jones
I have a bad habit of down playing my accomplishments. It's like I need to be constantly reminded about my seemingly significant goals or plans that I have smashed.
This week, Cousin Luvvie reminded me why I shouldn't be humble...why I need to acknowledge my achievements, even if they look "insignificant" to me because they didn't give me the exact results I was looking for.
This year, I successfully hosted two physical events: The Tourism Women Luncheon and the See the World Podcast Launch Party *raises two hands in da air*
Like a friend of mine will always say, "No event is small, o! No matter how small the audience is, successful hosting one is a big deal!"
So I am not being humble about this...I am proudly taking my flowers 💐
However, it is right to acknowledge that I did not do these projects alone...I had help.
Help from my community: family, friends, colleagues and well-wishers.
Without them, none of these event would have happened, and neither would they have been successful. I am grateful for each and every one of them *sends virtual hugs*
"Don't think about what you have as being too small. Don't think about your capacity as being limited. Just start with what you have and do something!" Tosin Durotoye
Lastly, I am grateful for doing these projects...that is, doing them afraid.
Doing them while asking myself, "Nnennaya, who send you message, o!" *laughs hysterical*
A couple of times, I considered scrapping both events due to little or no funds or because I was getting not-so-good feedback from potential sponsors and even potential guests.
But God came through, as always...through the gift of some amazing humans *grateful child*
Moral of the story: Don't be afraid to do that thing you've been planning to do.
Do it afraid with the little resources you have. Be resourceful.
Don't do it alone. Reach out to your circle and ask for help. Your network is your net-worth.
Most importantly, Trust GOD. He will always make a way where there seems no way.
I hope my above epistle has inspired you to take that necessary leap, *smiles*
Blows puff-puff at you *shines teeth*
Till my next e-letter, remember...
Life is short, live it to the fullest, .
Odabo....e-see you soon *waves*
Your Wanderluster,
Ajala Nene
