Who is a Disruptive Innovator?

As defined in the School of Wikipedia...

This is an innovator who creates a new market by providing a different set of values, which ultimately (and unexpectedly) overtakes an existing market.

Here are examples of disruptive innovations...

Facebook over threw Friendster and Hi5 (I had accounts on both platforms so I felt the disruption! *laughs*)

Lodging companies like Airbnb and CouchSurfing are giving hotels a run for their money (Looking forward to CouchSurfing sometime soon *excited*)

An old school example is computers taking over typewriters and laptops taking over computers.

So what can you create/do that will disrupt your industry, ?

As an entrepreneur, what can you do differently that will make you stand out in your space?

Sometimes we think we need to do really big things to cause disruption...

Honestly you don't.

You just need to look for a problem that you can offer a new type of solution.

For example I saw a gap in the Tourism education and digital marketing space.

This led me to start and create the Tourism Virtual Summit and the Tourism Business Academy.

Both are still a work in progress.

However, they have both managed to offer solutions and opened doors of opportunities for me in the Tourism space.

Become a Disruptive Innovator in your space, .

Look for problem(s) that your business can offer solution(s) to...

However do it in a disruptive way and leave a lasting impression that will create opportunities for you and your business.
