Is Ajala Nene a FRAUD? 🫣

Kedu, ?
How have you been coping with life in general?
For me, it's been pretty up and down - some days are inspiring...some days are not.
But we will keep pushing, abi? *smiles*
Question of the day: , have you ever felt like you are a fraud?
I have, plenty times *raises hand*
The 'scientific' name for feeling like a fraud is IMPOSTOR SYNDROME.
Here is one of the best descriptions of what Imposter Syndrome means...
"This is the feeling that you aren't as competent or intelligent as others might think—and that soon enough, people will discover the truth about you."
Today's newsletter was actually inspired by Pat Flynn, who recently sent a newsletter with the subject "Pat Flynn is a fraud".
By the time I was done reading it, I shared it with my growth friends and said, "Uncle Pat Flynn is talking to me, o!" *laughs*
Look , even the greatest of the greatest and the most confident of the confident feel like a fraud sometimes. It is called Life-ing *smiles*
The only problem is when you decide to keep seating in the fraudish feeling, and refusing to move past it.
These are some of the things I do to help me overcome the imposter syndrome feeling:
#1. Write out 5 to 10 things you like about yourself. This helps you redirect your thoughts about the positive things you possess that makes you stand out as an individual.
#2. Surround yourself with amazing people. Be around people who want the best for you: family, friends, and colleagues. When you start feeling down about yourself, reach out to them. They will help you boost your confidence.
#3. Keep records of your victories. Every time you make a win, no matter how small, write it down in your special book - a journal or e-journal. The days you start doubting yourself, go read them, and you will be inspired.
#4. Ask for testimonials. Reach out to people you have worked with or worked for and even family and friends and ask them to give you a testimonial about yourself and/or your work. Document them and read them when you feel low about your abilities
#5. Have a mantra or/and listen to affirmations. Repeat a favour quote that inspires you. Recite an affirmation regularly.
#6. Pray and listen to inspiring music. Talk to God, genuinely, let Him know how you feel... He listens *smiles* Listen to songs that will boost your spirit. Do these daily, and they will help you align your emotion and thoughts for the day.
To be honest, I don't do these as regularly as I should, but during my rusty days, I pick or combine the above to bring me out of my fraud dump *laughs hysterical*
, you are good enough. Don't let anyone tell you otherwise.
Yes, there are days you will feel that you are not - and that's okay - you are human.
However, don't stay in that dump for too long - reach out for help by practising some of the tips I mentioned above.
The fraudish feeling started kicking into me because of some projects I want to embark on next year.
I plan to start a podcast, host the Tourism Women Luncheon and launch a funding program in 2024, and one part of me starting asking if I am qualified to do any of these things, even though I have done one of them before.
It took my growth friends and family (see why you need to surround yourself with good people?), my media kid (the power of documenting your victories) and God's constant reminder (TY Bello's Heaven Has Come album is very refreshing) to reminnd me that I am GOOD ENOUGH...
