The Damage Control 😳

Ba wo ni, ?
Have you every been in a situation where you needed to execute 'Damage Control'?
Well, I was in that situation over the weekend.
Here is what went down...*sips coffee + clears throat*
Saturday evening, I decided to send a broadcast to some of my contacts on WhatsApp.
I went to the settings, clicked on broadcast and spent about 5 minutes selecting the people in my contact list that I wanted to send the message to.
After selecting the first set, I clicked create.
, that's how your girl went to create a WhatsApp group instead, o! *hands on head*
I had mistakenly clicked 'Group' instead of 'Broadcast' *covers face*
Immediately I realized my mistake, I quickly exited the group and deleted it.
Whew! *clears eyebrows*
That's how I managed to apply damage control...or did I? *gulp*
Next thing I knew, I started getting private messages asking...
"Nnenna was your phone hacked?"
"Nnenna, what group is that?"
"Nnenna, I think your kids are playing with your phone" *chuckles*
This time, I carefully did a broadcast sincerely apologizing to them and requested that they left the group.
However, there is a reason I am sharing this story with you, .
A beautiful thing happened after I sent the apology broadcast...
Almost everyone responded accepting my apology and reassuring me that they were not upset.
Someone even responded by calling me a professional for executing damage control to the situation.
Yea...that's how I got my subject headline for today *shines teeth*
, please know that it is normal to make mistakes, we are human.
But how you redeem yourself after you have been called out or notice your mistake is what really matters.
There is nothing wrong with apologizing when you have done wrong.
In fact being honest and authentic will earn you a strong liking and a high level of trust among your audience.
So the day you feel like covering up a mistake, remember the consequences *gives you a motherly smile*
Life is short. Live it to the fullest, .
Till tomorrow. Ka o di *waves*
Your Wanderluster,
Ajala Nene
