My Confession 😔

Kedu, ?
I am going to be very honest with you, ...
Here is my confession...
I wasn't ready for 2021.
Here is my reason why...
Last year, I wrote down so many plans...BIG plans...
How I was going to make about 18 million naira by December 2020 (Do you remember that email?)
How I was going to get speaking opportunities...
How I was going to be part of some great events as one of the organizers...
So many plans, .
But alas! 2020 turned the whole world upside down and many plans were aborted *smh*
, I am very sure at some point you experienced this too.
So when December 2020 came, even though I had templates to draft out plans for 2021...
I felt stuck...*shrugs*
Now I was and still sure of what I want to achieve this year and I have plans...
But there was still that feeling that...
"I didn't achieve most of my goals last year, how am I sure I will this year?"
If you are feeling the same way, let me share an advise I read from one of the newsletters I follow...
"Give yourself permission to be ok with that" Adunola Adeshola
She explained that if you are starting the first week of 2021 with that "not-so-fresh-start" feeling, that it is okay to feel that way...
Permit yourself, .
She also went on to say that our “old” goals can be rollovered into the new year.
And that we can still feel confident about what we hope to achieve, even if we didn’t achieve those same things last year.
Honestly this is very liberating, .
May I add that you can also make some adjustments in your old goals to suit the new ones for the year.
She also suggested writing a letter to yourself to be read on December 31, 2021.
In the letter you will celebrate yourself for accomplishing both your old and new goals.
I have adopted the idea, and I think you should too, *smiles*
So yeah...that's my confession.
I am sharing this with you paraventure you are feeling stuck and a bit confused like I was...
Please give yourself permission to feel that way but find a way to get out of it asap.
Let's make 2021 worthwhile, shall we? *wink*
Remember...
Life is short. Live it to the fullest, .
Till then. Sai wata rana *waves*
Your Wanderluster,
Ajala Nene
