Q: What are the odds of successfully walking onto a college hockey program?

A: It greatly depends on the program's strength and needs, but typically, the odds a quite low. To successfully walk onto a team, you have to be several steps ahead of your competition for the coach to notice you and take you over a player that they've already committed. Therefore, if you're planning on walking onto a team, you have to develop your skills and train consistently so you become so good that they can't ignore you.
