Question of the Week

Q: How can I have a harder shot?

A: There are 2 main ways to get a harder shot. First and most obvious, practicing it. Often times, it's more a matter of technique rather than strength. Practicing your shot can mostly be done by yourself, but having the advice of a coach, watching video of yourself shooting, and watching players with great shots are all great tools to add onto self practice. A good benchmark is doing 100 shots before or after every practice, and using the other tools as an add-on. Another way to indirectly improve your shot is to build your grip strength. Great ways to do this are by doing tennis ball squeezes and upper body exercises of any kind (bonus: use fat gripz to emphasize grip strength). Hope this helps!
