Question of the Week

Q: What's the hardest thing you've ever had to deal with in hockey?

A: The first time I got released from my Jr. A team rookie year. At one moment, I had everything going for me; we were a winning team, I was playing a lot, and I was surrounded by a great group of people. Next thing I knew, I got called up into the coach's office to be told that I've gotten complacent and that they were releasing me from the team. I was blindsided and devastated. Although this moment in my life was incredibly difficult, I wouldn't change the way things unfolded because it taught me how to deal with adversity and to never become complacent ever again. If you're going through something difficult right now, remember that the challenge will pass will time and that some sort of a silver lining will come out of it.
